To Do

05 06 05

Now that I’m finished with school, have only a limited job schedule at the moment, and there’s nothing else that I’m required to do each week, I theoretically have have quite a bit of time on my hands. Time that I don’t use well. I had a chance tonight at Status to think about what I can do to change this, and came up with a few short-term goals for this week.

A week ago I started making an effort to be off of the PowerBook by midnight each night, and set aside some time before bed for reading. Books are good, and I enjoy them a lot when I actually take the time to open them. So that’s a good thing I have going on right now that I definitely want to continue.

On the other hand, I can’t remember the last time I cooked anything decent. This has been at the back of my mind for a week or so now, but was brought promptly to the front this weekend after Daniel gave me a copy of Giada’s book as a groomsman gift. I’m going to make a concerted effort to get back into the kitchen this week.

Exercise has been sorely lacking from my life. And by sorely, I mean I get sore any time I do anything active. It make me feel like an old man, and I hate it. But, while laziness may have won up until now, I went for a jog tonight, and I’m making of goal of doing it again three more times this week.

I’ve been meaning to find a way to get hooked into Status more tightly, and they have been continually making known a need for more techs for a while now. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do (I’m convinced I would have been an A/V geek had I gone to a real school), but have been putting off. I talked to some guys tonight though, and it looks like I’ll be learning the ropes (cables?) for the next couple weeks. Beyond that I have no clue what’s going to happen, but I’m excited about it.

So that’s where I’m at, and a little of where I’d like to be.
